Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 101

Well, happy WOYWW101 everyone! folks may be wondering no doubt – did I make the deadline with my text? And the answer is yes, praise God! Thanks to all who were praying for me.. The text was finished and picked up at lunchtime on the Friday before Mothers day on Sunday.

I was totally over it by the time I had finished, and the end was not with out its dramas. I had a big ink blot in totally the wrong spot to clean up and if it weren’t for answered prayer and my new “you-beaut!” eraser I would still be crying over spilt milk.

If you can get yourself one of these it will save a lot of angst when it comes to marks, even black ink you would think would never come out. It’s full title is a “ Pentel Clic Eraser Hyper Eraser “ and they are refillable, so that is really great. I bought it at my Sydney calligraphy store so you should be able to get them at any good art store. They are a cross between an ink and a pencil eraser - as white in colour but has a rough texture, and very fine so you can just erase a detailed small area.

What I am doing now? as my dad says, I am running around like a blue tailed fly...trying to catch up the backlog. This week have five cards to make, three done and then other two yet to start. You can see the Aspire brayered work on my desk (and some Stampscapes - could not resist a play when i had my brayer out!!) and these are the start of two cards which I had on order.

The other three pictured are simple ones, all for my sister, one is baby card with Nellie Snellen Die, and then two others with Stamping Up papers as she likes simple designs. The clever ones of you will see a House Mouse one on my desk finished too as she also ordered one of these which I posted before a few weeks back now. It was sold so had to do another for her! Oops!

Also have started another small text which was ordered a while back - it is one I have done before so that is half the battle and have posted it before too. Have another large one on the agenda, a wedding present order  for July so really not time to sit and do nothing.

So if you want to enjoy a snoop at desks around the world please join in the fun and pop over to Julia’s blog, Julia's Stamping Ground! for the best blog hop around!

Shaz, that text is so beautiful. I can't even begin to imagine how many hours of work have gone into it. And thanks for the tip on the eraser.

(In a moment of Australian nostalgia, I should add that I have a bottle of Bundaberg Lemon, Lime and Bitters on my desk. Gorgeous, and currently on offer in the supermarket, so I can indulge! Now all I need is avocado on toast for brekkie...)

Wow the finished project was stunning - well done you! I usually end up with a splodge somewhere on my work so I might invest in one of those pens - does it erase distress ink too? not that that really matters as that can usually be blended in a bit and stamped over (see an expert in cock ups me!). Love the cards - particularly the sea scene one - is that brayered? Sunshine Girl No. 24

I always love coming to your desk. That Text came out beautifully. Well done. I remember blotches like that on artwork for Varsity at 2am in the morning after working on the project for 3 days solid , with no time to start again before you had to hand your work in at 8am! Hooray for that eraser. I became good friends with my scalpel blade!

Well done on finishing your text - it looks amazing, and I can't see anywhere you may have had a blot, so that eraser is a good tip, thanks!! Also love your cards. Hope you catch your tail soon.

Oh Shaz in Oz...your cards are always lovely, but really, the calligraphy is breathtaking....a total labour of love really because I'm guessing you don't charge a realistic hourly rate!! It's a rare beauty, you should be very proud of your skills.

Your calligraphy text is wonderful. I like the small flowers you put on it for the decoration. What a patiance. And your "simple" cards... they are all beautiful as well. I like the backgrounds on the left. Looking foreward to see what you'll make with these.

Shaz I love those 3 panel cards- I shall be filing that idea away for later use, lol. Your Calligraphy came out really well, I shall be looking for the eraser you mention- I have a couple of typewriter erasers I use at the moment, but I imagine they are going to become very difficult to find- typewriters being pretty much obsolete now!

Beautiful Shaz, so stunning. Can't imagine how many hours are in that piece of calligraphy, and I think I would have had a heart attack if there was a blob of something where it shouldn't have been! I'm hyperventilating just thinking about it, lol!

Hia. I was trying to put a comment on her on Wednesday when Blogger packed in on me and then BT failed and we lost internet.
I wanted to say that I think your piece is absolutely STUNNING. Well done for finishing it in time and I hope you are proud of the finished text.
Chickens are coming tomorrow (sunday) and Hubby has done me proud in getting the coop ready for them.

Beautiful work as per usual Shaz! In answer to your question about what I'd want Calligraphy wise and when by - my Mother turns 80 on the 15th July, and she's a lay preacher. I'd only want something postcard sized, for ease of posting! However, I appreciate that you're busy so don't worry about. I think we'd be pushing it to get it here in time. My bad for not thinking of it sooner!
