Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Ink Resist with Variations, Water Dragon + WOYWW 299!!!

Hullo there everyone ... this is just another quick post as have a lot of catch up in posting lots of items not shared. My desk two weeks back making a card for BiL. This is technique saw on YouTube with Jennifer McGuire..  really very simple.
Background stamp of choice inked up with versamark and clear Embossing powder. Add inks (Distress Inks here) .. three colours were demonstrated I think - anyway that is what I went with!! Here it is Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage, and Weathered Wood (love this new colour!) and used the round ink daubers to apply in pattern.
Distress Inks Barn Door, Faded Jeans, and Weathered wood. Not made this one up yet.

This is the first one made up, trimmed down looked heaps better :D. Inked up white card with Bundled Sage on edges and Weathered Wood for double perfectly matched mounting. The stamp Happy Birthday is among my oldest I suspect from early 1990's only has Stamp Art on it and LA., stamped and embossed with Silver EP. Die cut is Victorian Rectangles by Couture Creations, inked with Sage. Brads are silver but look gold.
NOTE: would not recommend this stamp, as much as I like it. It is a Just Rite Cling called Embroidered Background Stamp. It was impossible to get a completely perfect stamping (imperfect in strips in middle). Not sure what I was doing wrong tried various techniques, ie on block down on paper then paper on block and press .. the first worked best... I have other background stamps this large and detailed but they are mostly Hero arts, no issues with other about half dozen background stamps..
This card was a real quickie birthday card for my sister, the SU Daisy stamp was ink emboss resist with brayer way back here on this post.

This is a quick card for a friend in hospital. Butterfly is Joy 6003/0023. Verse on Petite SB Ovals is a digi as is the background sheet. Added glossy accents to other butterflies on sheet. This piece and one above was in snippet images for ages. What a great promise to have from God's word, the LORD God is the stronghold in the day of trouble... or even when it is not a day of trouble!
Here is the image for Downunder today... this morning saw this little visitor hanging of the outside of the screen door. I quickly grabbed the camera and went out into the courtyard from the back so he would not see me, then zoomed in and clicked and came back into to get a shot from the other side... but he spotted me and suddenly did a huge leap off the door, and scuttled away. It is an Eastern Water Dragon.. a baby, they can grow to about three feet long, their tail is more than two thirds of their body length.. see another post back here where his cheeky face is peeking up from birdbath.
Well everyone, it is time to link on over to WOYWW at  Julia's Stamping Ground (What is on Your Workdesk Wednesday) ~ share with the desks of the world! Some snippets here so off to the Snippets Playground, as well as Word Art Wednesday.. Yay!

More Spellbinder Majestic Labels 25

Hullo there everyone,
Just a quick post to share the cards started on my desk last week, as wont be posting this week for WOYWW, have others to share as well so will be posting again sometime towards end of this week. An update for those who were praying for the two cyclones that hit the end of last week, Lam in Northern Territory in fairly isolated area, and also Marcia in Northern Queensland. It has never happened before that two category 5 (highest category) crossed Aust. coast within hours of one another. Marcia caused a lot of damage.. some of which is only now being discovered.
Mercifully most of the rain did not head south and down our way. It amazingly dissipated! We frequently get tropical lows from such cyclones. It was forecast for much flooding up north. It never eventuated, so the LORD was very merciful, answered prayer indeed. We, and north of us, have had goodly falls of rain but not flood worthy.

Steps of how this and cards below were made, are on this post here.. or scroll down, with Spellbinder Majestic Labels 25.
Psalm 91:1 is appropriate at all times "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High shall rest in the shadow of the Almighty."
Psalm 91 is also called the Christians life Insurance Policy if you read it through you will see why :D Stamp is current, or relatively so - Copyright 2006, bought on Ebay few years ago - by Stampabilities, GR1114. Butterfly is Pippi from Memory Box and embossed only, very lightly, the vellum underneath then trimmed around it with hand scissors.
Stamp on this card and one below are by Stampendous from 1994,  so probably not available, I have been stamping for 25 years. This verse Revelation 21:3,4 " God Himself shall be with them... He will wipe away all tears from their eyes" - what a precious hope - it is for a sympathy card, and the other three are for birthdays. The verse, " the LORD bless you and keep you", is from Numbers 6:23,24 and has the reference on it but wouldn't fit so did not include it in stamping. These blue ones were inked with Brilliance inks an so could emboss them too as well as the purple Versafine.
All three together, had already posted the one shown last week to Qld. It was not popped up as high as these layers as it had to go through the post, will be hand delivering these three.
A card for an Oriental Stamp Art (OSA) weekly challenge and it was a layout challenge, I used the SU Sprinkles for the top lot of stamping, various daisy stamps including kanji are from Artneko Spring set 2014/2015. The three strips of a card were left over from the labels 25 cards, so really why made it. Ink was DI Rusty Hinge, and also coloured edges with it and the fine cord.
What a blessing it is... to have hands to craft and crafty goodies to use to encourage or bless others :D
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat...
It is really appreciated even if am very slow to reply at times.

To my desk:

Here am mid morning today... and has not progressed much since then. This is using Majestic Labels 25 Spellbinder die set from many months ago - see here {Oo, so long and first time using!!} For those wondering about tool in one, it has the thumbs up! there are times when is poky tool only but mostly if use it correctly it works a treat except for few SB dies. Have two completed cards at top then starting on two other cards with different verse from and centre. They aren't needed this week but hoping to get ahead. I have three birthdays close together, and one sympathy being required. Snippets were used on top layers for these.
Building up the layers to get 3D effect.
Cards made with Majestic Labels 25, layered up. Psalm 91:1 is appropriate at all times "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High shall rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91 is also called the Christians life Insurance Policy if you read it throguh you will see why :D Stamp is also current, or relatively so - Copyright 2006, bought on Ebay few years ago - by Stampabilities, GR1114

Stampscapes *log cabin with *sedge filler, *rock ledge + *reeds all unmounted stamp. From Snippet drawer with completed images, image done ages ago with PanPastels. Corners are made with SB Fleur de Lis square die, DP is discontinued one and thought it matched the image with fine Nellie Snellen Ribbon edge die, love this one.
Native Fanflower (Scaevolasee here) growing down close to beach, in creekside garden.
Our beach ~ a bird's eye view - a Peewee preening himself was caught some time back our on a walk - taken on my mobile. It doesn't have digital zoom so was standing close to him :D

I will comment as able ~ may take 'til next week but will get there :D
Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek as chat, and may God bless your day wherever you may be!

PS just heard two cyclones,  one Cat.1 in far north Qld, other Cat.3 (highest category is Cat. 5) in NT in Gulf country. Praying for the folk concerned and rain winds etc will not be as severe as forecast. We are predicted to have heavy rainfall fir several days.. flooding a prayer point too for many areas north of here. All prayers appreciated.
UPDATE: Both Marcia and Lam crossed landfall within hours of one another, both were Cat. 5.  Now praying for rain not to cause massive flooding, we often get a tropical lows after these events.

Frog cards, Spellbinders and WOYWW

{WARNING - Picture heavy post.}

Hullo there everyone - YES! 'Tis Wednesday and desk showing/ sharing again!! Pop over to Julia's - we all join together to share and learn on a world wide desk hop.
Here are my messy desks x 2 = double trouble :D
Desk late Monday as was making my nephew's birthday card - used some snippet of photo paper which had been inked using the crumpled wet cling wrap method see here. Am measuring pieces for tile effect on card with snippet of back to mount.
Completed card with computer print out for greeting, Stamp is from My Stamps 44F of Australia, circa 1995.
Today's desk shows the card begun last fortnight's desk, and here layering the Cheery Lynn "Mini Fanciful Flourish die"with three layers so it sits well on card. Rest of recipe see this post here - where made wedding card - this card was test run for it. Inked up on the die cuts to match the DP.
The finished card - 70th for my dear friend's birthday. Do love Spellbinders -recipe here
A close up so you can see the details, greeting is on computer again. The green is there on the DP, it just does not show up much in photos.
This card was also on last fortnight's desk, and finally finished it as thank you for wonderful biscuits (Swiss baked each Christmas by a dear 80 y.o. father of a friend). Biscuits photographed and printed out, "Thanks" and "Marco" are from CB Olivia Alphabet set.
This is why I was absent last week was up at family's place on the beach, view from their balcony, and we did go swimming in the lovely warm waves. We have had another glorious day today but had lots of rain in between. This photo has not been enhanced, that is how brilliant and bright it was.
I really wanted to share this with you... See that lovely clear foam?? When you are swimming in the surf, which we were, it is like being in a salty foamy bubble bath, I really love that part and not sure if it is common where there are not waves of any decent size and regularity. It is is not like this at the jetty where the waves are small but only in open surf... A wonderful gift of God's creation!! That's why I chose the Bible verse below .. it reminds me of the sea's power and God's almighty power, grace and love for each of us - He cares, yes! He cares.
Ending with a little of housekeeping I am delighted to welcome a new encourager of this blog ~ Therese,  from Australia, who does great videos - her blog is Lost in Paper, do pop over. https://lostinpaper.wordpress.com

Well, thanks so much everyone for popping over for peek and chat.. and may God bless your day wherever you may be..  Shaz in Oz.x
